Call Center Philippines

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work in a call center in the Philippines?

I used to think about it a lot. Many of my friends in college where getting jobs at call centers so I wanted to know what it is like. So like anything in life, there is only one way to find out, I dove in and started calling for telemarketing.

Many of my friends were working as inbound call center agents but I really wanted to try and see if I could survive selling products over the phone.

I got a job with a good call center and the pay was great for what I had made before in my life but the pressure was on to make sales everyday.

I actually found that I was really good at it. As the dialing computers hummed away, I waited for my customers to pick up their phones. My telemarketing campaign was actually a business to business sale so the trick was getting past the gate-keepers and getting to the person who actually had the power to make the decision. The more I worked at it and paid attention to my calls the more sales I was making. I was also getting a commission on each sale, plus a night differential for working the graveyard shift. So for me working in a Philippines call center isn’t a bad thing. I found something I am good at and I hope to become a team leader soon.
